Eternal Bounty shows her potential

Sun 30th Oct 2011, 13:41

Eternal Bounty under Wayne Lordan led home a 1-2-3 for Coolmore in Leopardstown’s opener, the seven furlong maiden for two-year-old fillies which looked an above average contest.

David Wachman’s daughter of Galileo stepped up on her promising debut at Fairyhouse where she was beaten less than a length into fourth when travelling well and running short of room.

She was returned at 6/1 having drifted out from 9/2 and prevailed by half-a-length from Aidan O’Brien’s front-runner Wonderful (2/1 joint favourite) who battled back gamely when headed by the winner a furlong out.

“She’s a grand straightforward filly. She’ll be a nice filly for middle distance Listed/Group3 races next year,” David Wachman said.

“She ran a bit green and should improve a lot. She was a shade unlucky on her debut when she didn’t know what she was doing.” Twirl on her first run for Aidan O’Brien, ran a noteworthy race to keep on for third at 10/1 in the 17-runner race.

The other 2/1 joint favourite was the well-backed Princess Highway for Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen. She finished back in eighth after being backed in from a morning price of 5/1.
