Going change at Leopardstown

Thu 21st Jul 2011, 12:10

The going at Leopardstown for this evening's card has softened further to good to yielding (yielding in places) following heavy rain which has been falling since early morning. There is heavy drizzle at present which could persist into early evening before clearing.

The seven-race fixture gets underway at 5.55pm with the two Group 3 contests providing the highlight.

The Korean Racing Authority Tyros Stakes sees Tenth Star installed as red-hot favourite for Aidan O'Brien. The Ballydoyle supremo is looking to continue his dominance in this race, having won the last three renewals.

The Jockey Club of Turkey Meld Stakes pits course specialist Famous Name against Jan Vermeer and Dunboyne Express in a mouthwatering clash.

Meanwhile, the going for tomorrow's meeting at Down Royal is described as good on the five furlong and seven furlong tracks and good (yielding in places) on the one mile two furlong track.

Wexford, which also hosts a Friday evening card, is good to firm with watering being caried out.

Elsewhere, the ground at Galway is good ahead of next week's festival.
