Green eventually gets the Gold
Green To Gold handicapped as a four-year-old last year before going on to run some respectable races on the flat, went back hurdling to break his maiden tag, landing the 2011 Five Day Festival Handicap Hurdle by eight lengths under Alan Crowe at Punchestown.
Christy Roche 's grey son of Daylami, took over turning into the straight and a big bold jump at the last sealed an eight length success over Le Reveur
Roche commented: "It's nice to get a winner. I put him in again at Mallow (Cork, the racinghomeforeaster.com Handicap Hurdle) on Sunday before Noel (O'Brien, the handicapper) gets his hands on him because he will!"
Tim Kavanagh from Newtownmountkennedy, County Wicklow owns Green To Gold and he was gaining compensation for Lil Ella s seventh place effort in the opener. That one is also trained by Roche and was ridden by Crowe.
