Greenpanda made all to land the Tierney's Foxhall Handicap under Declan McDonogh for Gavin Cromwell.

Without a win in five starts as a two-year-old, the bay daughter of Jeremy finished fifth on her seasonal debut at Cork, before disappointing on her most recent effort at Naas.

Off a mark of 49, she was sent off at 10/1 this evening (from 12s), and went straight to the front.

She extended her advantage from the two furlong pole, and kept on well from over a furlong out, going on to score easily by seven lengths. Pronounced finished second at 7/1 under Ana O'Brien for her brother Joseph, while 40/1 chance Jock Talk was a neck away in third for Conor McGovern and Seamus Fahey. Les Arceaux was sent off the 11/8 favourite and he finished a well-beaten sixth, with Colin Keane aboard for Johnny Murtagh.

Cromwell said afterwards: "She has loads of ability but she's just a little bit of a madam.

"She did have blinkers on her for one run last year but she wasn't 100 percent. It was just at the end of the season and I saved them again for today.

"In fairness to Colm O'Donoghue he said to come here put blinkers on her and bounce her out.

"She has piles of ability and loved it around there today. We might get to Galway with her yet. She'll possibly go to Bellewstown but the boys would all love to go to Galway.

"I bought her back at the sales (E2,500 Goffs February Mixed Sale) and I had no owners for her but I got a phone call five minutes later. The boys offered to buy her and leave her with me.

"Troy Cullen heads the syndicate (the Poetry In Motion Syndicate) with his brother Joey and the whole family are involved. It's worked out great for everyone."

STEWARDS REPORT

The Stewards requested a report from Gavin Cromwell, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Greenpanda, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed at Navan on its last start, on ground quicker than ideal. He added that today's change in tactics by jumping out handy coupled with the re-application of blinkers helped his charge return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
