Heartbreak City was another big priced winner at Cork this afternoon when running out an easy winner of the ten furlong handicap.

Tony Martin's charge was sent to post a 20/1 shot but cruised into contention early in the straight.

Seamie Heffernan sent his mount to the front at the two pole and he pulled away with ease in the closing stages for a 12 length success.

The French-bred gelding, a winner at York last summer, was having his first run since finishing down the field in the November Handicap at Leopardstown.

"That was not unexpected because he's a good horse and loves that ground. I didn't think he'd do it that well though,” said Martin.

"I thought the mile and two would be a bit sharp for him as he won over two miles, but because of the ground it rode like a 1m6f race.

"I'm delighted with him and he'll have to step up now because definitely he'll have to get seven or eight (pounds) for winning today. He's not good enough for a black-type race though."

He added: "I thought my other horse (Quick Jack) would run better and thought he was the better of the two of mine but he was disappointing."

Flag starts were used for the final two races.
