Hughes/Loughran record quick double
Roger Loughran put in a good performance when getting up in the closing stages of The Listowel Writers Week Mares Hurdle aboard the Dessie Hughes trained Grangeclare Gold making it a quick a double for the pair.
Hughes stated afterwards, "Her only previous good run was when she finished 2nd at Punchestown on her debut. We have basically been waiting 12 months for good ground. The ground did make a difference but we always thought she was a good mare. She is a three parts sister to Grangelcare Lark who won seven races including two Listed events."
The pairs earlier winner came with Valhalla Vision winning The St John's Literary Centre Handicap Hurdle.
