Denis O’Regan produced the Barry Connell owned, Alan Fleming trained Hurricane Darwin with a well timed challenge from off the pace to win the featured E20,000 At The Races Handicap Chase at Navan today.
The seven year old son of Westerner was today having his first start for four months and benefitted from O’Regan’s patient ride, improved to lead at the final fence before scoring a length and three parts win over Whatareudoingtome
Fleming later stated “Denis was really good on him and it suited the horse. He likes good ground and if we can stick to that, there could be another chase in him.
“He could go back over hurdles as he has a more lenient mark. He’s a nice fun horse.”
