Aidan O’Brien’s Easter delivered on the promise of her first run when making all to land the opening seven furlong fillies’ maiden at Leopardstown on the last day of the turf flat season.

She caught many an eye when finishing well for second behind Bocca Baciata in Navan over a mile. Seamie Heffernan made full us of her stamina today when taking the field along and staying on well to score by a length at 3/1.

The 10/11 favourite, Stellar Glow for Jim Bolger, tried to hunt Easter down and kept on without ever reaching the winner. John Oxx’s Pour Deux was a further two and a quarter lengths behind in third at 11/2.

Joseph O'Brien, who was suspended today, said afterwards: “She's an Oaks type of filly for next year. She had a really nice run first time at Navan when the penny dropped late.

“She has a good attitude and is a straight-forward, uncomplicated filly. The second filly there had good solid form and I'd say it was quite a good maiden.”

Winning jockey Seamie Heffernan said: "She's a grand filly and had a lovely run the first day. We expected her to collect.”
