On a day of doubles, Jetstream Jack brought up Gordon Elliott's with a comfortable win in the beginners' chase.

He was well backed to deliver from 4/5 down to 4/7 favourite and took the honours by three and a half lengths.

This was his first attempt at fences on the racecourse having landed a point-to-point and a bumper and having reached a mark of 135 over hurdles courtesy of two victories.

Davy Russell had him lobbing along in second behind Baily Moon before he made good headway to lead before the second last.

From there he readily asserted and had too much in the tank for Inis Meain who kept on well for second at 5/2.

"He jumped well but we knew chasing was always going to be his game," Gordon Elliott said.

"It was my own fault sending him to Cheltenham last season as it spoiled the season a bit; he was just a bit buzzy and it took a lot more of out himself going over there.

"He'll be a nice horse this year and we'll keep it small with him and try and find a winners' race in a few weeks time. Davy (Russell) said he'd come on from the run and while it wasn't the strongest race in the world, he couldn't do any more than he did."

He finished ninth in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
