Kabjoy ran out an impressive winner of the opening 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle at Navan on her debut over timber.

The Jessica Harrington-trained filly tracked the leaders in the two-miler before hitting the front three from home.

She kept on strongly, under Robbie Power, in the closing stages to post a comprehensive five-and-a-half length winning margin over Prussian Eagle

The winner was sent off 9/2 second choice in the market with the Willie Mullins-trained Uradel returning 2/5 favourite.

The hotpot failed to pick up in the straight before eventually plugging on to finish fifth.

“She did it well. From the first day we schooled her she was a natural and loves jumping. She's very very good and enjoys it,” said Power afterwards.

“She handled the ground well and hopefully we have a nice winter to look forward to with her.”
