Kilmurry takes opener at Galway
Kilmurry from the Henry de Bromhead stable opened up his account over fences on the second time of asking when taking the opening Galway Bay FM Beginners Chase.
Andrew Lynch had the five-year-old head of affairs from three out and the pair soon kicked clear entering the straight and kept on strongly to record an impressive twelve lengths.
A delighted de Bromhead said afterwards: “That was brilliant, I was delighted with him.”
“He was always going to be a chaser so that’s why we decided to kick on with him even though he is only a five year old.”
“He ran well first time out at Killarney and one of the lads involved in him was keen to come to Galway.”
“There is a two and a half mile novice chase at Tipperary in October that springs to mind for him.”
