Odds-on backers were made sweat in the June 7th & 20th Twilight Racing Maiden Hurdle when the Charles Byrnes trained 2/5 jolly Lord Adare was pushed all the way for a half length win.

The son of Moscow Society moved into a challenging position approaching the straight but, in a move similar to his previous outing at the track recently, appeared briefly to edge to the outer approaching the second last flight. However his rider Davy Russell was soon able to get him back on an even-keel and the pair eventually battled to a half length win over newcomer Keppols Queen

Afterwards Byrnes stated “he seemed to try to do the same at the second last flight again today. He's a fine model of a horse though and I'd say we'll let him off now and bring him back chasing next season.”
