Matilda With Me survived a stewards' enquiry at Dundalk today before registering a fourth career success in the Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Handicap (div II), for trainer Rodger Sweeney, owner Thomas Murphy and Champion Jockey Colin Keane.
The daughter of Morpheus' previous three wins were on the turf and today got off the mark at the ninth attempt on the all-weather, beating Dark Street by a neck. Matilda With Me bumped the runner-up close home but the result stood.
Regarding the sizeable five year old mare, Sweeney said "she's tough and that's four she has won now and she has had a good few seconds as well.
"It took four and a quarter hours to get here as she will only go in the lorry. She wouldn't go into the jeep and box."
