The Paul Hickey trained McKinley (7/1) landed the concluding race of The Curragh's year when winning the Curragh Finale Of 2013 Maiden under Kevin Manning.

Six to four favourite Rae's Creek set off at a fast pace racing keenly and failed to see out the trip, eventually fading badly inside the final furlong as McKinley and Manning swept to the front.

Afterwards Hickey stated “he (McKinley) is a big massive horse. His run at Dundalk was very good but he had a little problem in the spring and his first run back at Roscommon was after 10 months off.

“I imagine he'll be sold and I'll try and get him into one of the Sales. Kevin (Manning) said the ground was a bit quick for him but he might improve again.”
