More Cork cheer for the Harrisons
The concluding jogforjockeys.ie INH Flat Race at Cork was a lively betting heat and one of the morning market-movers, Hang On Groovy (8s this morning into 9/2) got the job done under Damian Skehan.
She may have swished her tail when asked for maximum effort but the winning daughter of Celtic Swing kept going well, despite edging to her right in the final furlong (survived a steward's enquiry) to beat What Are You Up To Strong enough at the top of the betting, Zadarska finished third after making the running to before the quarter mile point. Meanwhile a punt on Jane Kate (16s this morning into 9/2) went well astray as that newcomer could only manage ninth.
John Harrison son of winning trainer Cathy, and part-owner of this five-year-old, said: "We were just waiting for her ground. She'll probably go over hurdles now as she jumps very well.
"Ultimately she'll jump a fence as she is a big mare."
As alluded to by commentator Jerry Hannon, this win continued the Harrison family's good record at Cork and their Career Move (finished down the field in the 3.05) has three wins at the course to her name.
