Mullins doubles up with Supreme
Willie Mullins completed a short-priced double when Morning Supreme under Ruby Walsh, added to the earlier gains for Closutton with Quinola Des Obeaux by hacking up in the Winter Wonderland Maiden Hurdle. In truth those that took odds of 1/2 never really had an anxious moment.
Morning Supreme and Fly Home Cassy had this two miler between them from the outset and the former led approaching the straight, going on to prevail by five and a half lengths. Kilflora the second favourite, was never nearer than he was at the finish in third place, a further fourteen lengths behind.
Mullins said: "She jumped much better than I thought she would and she did it nicely. We'll find a novice hurdle for her now."
Horse Racing Ireland's new National Hunt ambassador also said of the former high class bumper performer: "She is a bit temperamental and she likes to have things her own way."
