Murtagh completes Dundalk double

Fri 17th Apr 2009, 21:36

Jockey Johnny Murtagh /a> completed a double at Dundalk tonight when steering 4/9f Glowing to a comfortable success in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Race.

Earlier successful on Royal Entourage in a handicap, Murtagh needed patience to score on Glowing, who has a high head carriage, nursing the filly to the front over a furlong out before pushing the daughter of Dansili for a comfortable win over Rose Hip

Afterwards winning trainer Charles O'Brien stated "Glowing lost her way a bit last year but is a bigger, stronger filly this year. She'll look or some blacktype now as, for breeding purposes, there isn't really any point winning a handicap."
