Murtagh doubles up on Warning

Sun 5th Sep 2010, 15:31

Johnny Murtagh notched a quick double when Warning Flag claimed the seven-furlong maiden at Dundalk.

The War Front colt took over from It's Freezing at the two furlong pole and kept on well in the closing stages. The Reaper came through for second, a length-and-a-half behind the David Wachman-trained winner.

The 3/1 winner had proved easy to back after trading as short as 11/10 in the morning. It's Freezing had attracted significant support from 13/2 in the morning into 5/2f on course.

"He did it well and the drop back in trip was no problem for him," said Wachman. "He's a nice horse that will keep improving."
