O'Brien registers Killarney treble
Eighteen years on from Vincent O'Brien recording a treble of winners, each ridden by Lester Piggott, at Killarney in 1991, O'Brien's Ballydoyle successor Aidan O'Brien registered a treble of his own, when Chirkova completed the hat-trick in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at the venue today.
Earlier successful, with Totally Devoted and Poet Chirkova benefited from the drop back to maiden company, readily seeing off the challenge of High Queen by two and a half lengths.
Chirkova's win was the sixth career win for Aidan O'Brien's jockey son Joseph O'Brien.
