Ebayya justified odds-on favouritism as she took the last at Gowran under Shane Foley for Mick Halford.

Fourth to Easter who earlier won the Listed race, on her debut at Leopardstown last October the daughter of Azamour was well-fancied to score on her last start at Naas.

She got going late in the day there and had to settle for second behind Octavia.

Stepped up in trip to a mile and one today she tracked the leaders on the outer before improving to dispute with four furlongs to race.

She soon gained a marginal lead and was ridden over a furlong from home. She drifted left inside the final furlong but was always doing enough to see off newcomer Posing with half a length separating them at the line.

The David Wachman trained runner-up was returned at 6/1 under Wayne Lordan while Vintage Charm (7/2) was a further four lengths back in third under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger.

The winner was available at 1/2 in the morning and went off the clear market leader at 4/11.

Mick Halford said afterwards: "Shane said she was having a good look around but she was always doing enough to win. It's nice to get a bracket, and we'll step her up in trip and class."
