Andrew Lynch completed an opening race double at Clonmel, combining with the Henry De Bromhead trained Goodoldhonkytonk in division two of the Team Tipperary GAA Race Evening Maiden Hurdle.

The five-year-old daughter of Oscar was 10/1 this morning with Paddy Power but she was supported on-course from 7s into 5s.

She out-battled the 11/10 favourite, Thomond on the run-in to score by a length and three parts at the line, with the Noel Meade trained 'jolly' having to settle for second under Barry Geraghty. Saddlers Luck was five lengths back in third under Martin Ferris for Mick Winters at 16/1, while there was a thirty-two length gap back to the fourth horse, Faustina Pius

Henry De Bromhead said afterwards: "She is very lazy and idle. Andrew gave her a super ride and he just told me he dropped his whip and I was wondering why he wasn’t using it, but it obviously suited her.

"She ran very well in a bumper last year and I thought she was going to be a right mare but she had disappointed since.

"She seems to be coming to herself now."
