Sheamus completed a hat-trick of wins in the Bobbyjo Bistro Great Food Great Deals Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse today, proving a tonic for winning trainer Dessie Hughes.

The son of Definite Article has previously won two bumpers and, ridden by Mark Enright today, stayed on gamely from the last for a length and three parts win over Couleur France

Hughes, whose stable's first-choice rider Bryan Cooper returns from injury tomorrow, was absent but his daughter Sandra Hughes later stated “it's a nice one for the owners who previously owned Schindlers Hunt and it'll give the boss a good tonic. He was listening to it and was delighted.”

She added “we've always thought an awful lot of him and he just needed time. He was good in his two bumpers and we were hoping he'd do that today.

“Mark (Enright) said they went a little slow for him and in a stronger run race we won't need to make as much use of him.”
