Strand continues punters run
Clancy Strand made it three successful favourites in a row when running out a convincing winner of the McWilliam Park Hotel Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
The 3/1 shot got a nice run on the rail to hit the front after the second last from the wide running Bean Chroi Bhriste
He kept on well to record a four-length success under Niall 'Slippers' Madden.
"He was unlucky at Cork when he met a good one. He just didn't get home on the slow ground," said trainer Niall Madden senior afterwards.
"He's no flying machine and we'll look for something similar for him. My horses are in good form - touch wood."
