Make A Track defied top weight to win the Grade B Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today, scoring a career highlight for seven pounds claimer Brian Cawley.

The winner, carrying the colours of Gigginstown House Stud, was prominent throughout and appeared to have the measure of second placed Immediate Response when that rival fell at the final fence.

Swan was at Leopardstown but Cawley later stated “I was in front a little longer than I'd have liked but a loose horse helped give him company. He's a good horse though and loves that winter ground. That's my 19th winner and I've one more to lose my 7lbs claim; I ride out mainly for Charlie (Swan) and Denis Hogan and basically here there and everywhere!”
