Ted Veale takes Leopardstown bumper

Sun 29th Jan 2012, 16:27

Four non-runners in the concluding Follow us on Facebook Bumper at Leopardstown today left eight runners go to post with victory in the end going to the Tony Martin trained Ted Veale (5/4f), under Kevin Power.

The son of Revoque was patiently ridden before being produced to lead early in the straight, eventually proving a length and a half too strong for newcomer Magic Spear

Afterwards Martin said “Ted Veale is a lovely prospect and is a chaser in the making. He would prefer better ground than today’s but gets a trip and jumps well.”

“His owner John Breslin is a great supporter of mine but is based in the States and we’ll have to plan things around when he is in Ireland - I’d say Ted Veale will run over hurdles soon.”
