Tens Or Better rounded off the 2018 racing year in Ireland and the At The Races era when triumphing in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Punchestown.
On her seventh attempt to win a bumper, Tens Or Better rewarded the persistence of owner George Moore and trainer Pat Fahy, prevailing today dropping back from the Listed company she kept in Navan last time.
Richie Harding was in the plate on the very well backed daughter of Gold Well, and she delighted those that forced her from 8/1 down to 100/30 on track, holding on from The Caddy Rose Daylight Katie and Good Scent
A neck, half a length and a neck were the margins at the line.
Keen going Daylight Katie put real pace to the race when leading and going clear at halfway. She was reeled in entering the straight where original leader Tens Or Better led again.
In the end the Fahy runner was all out to hold on.
Mr D.H. Dunsdon, rider of Daylight Katie (FR) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran keen and hung left.
