Theshowisover justified favouritism as he took the Limerick's Live 95FM Beginners Chase under Andrew Lynch for Henry De Bromhead.

The seven-year-old son of Rashar ran well on his last start at Down Royal finishing just over five lengths fourth to Blue Cannon.

Making his third start over fences this evening, he was sent off the 6/4 favourite in what was a very weak contest.

He hit the front early in the straight and he soon went on.

He jumped the last two well and he kept on to record an easy seven length success. Cloone Springs had to settle for second under John Cullen for Charlie Swan at 3/1, while Maggie’s Boy was thirteen lengths back in third under Colman Sweeney for Mary Twohig at 25/1.

Henry De Bromhead said afterwards: "I'm delighted for Jimmy (winning owner Jimmy McCarthy who is from Carrigtwohill).

"He bred him and he has persevered with him.

"We got a glimmer of hope with him last year but he then disappointed.

"Chasing seems to have made a big difference and he jumps so well. He did launch at the first but he was lucky and found a leg. He did it very well.

"I was telling Jimmy that he is a two-miler, but Jimmy said two and a half miles, so he was spot on.

"He is rated 120 and there is a few conditions chases to come for him now."
