Youmzain's full sister Spontaneous does it well

Spontaneous overcame nearly a year long absence from the track to win the last flat race of the evening, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden over a mile and four, for her trainer Frank Dunne with Niall McCullagh aboard.

The full sister of two time Arc De Triomphe runner-up Youmzain, had just two runs to her name before today both of which came in maiden company at Navan last October.

On her debut she finished just over six lengths, fifth to Eirinn while she disappointing next time out when sent off the 15/8 favourite, finishing a well beaten ninth behind Midnight Music who won the previous race.

The 9/4 favourite Puzzled attempt to make all under Fran Berry but couldn't hold off the challenge of the winner, who passed her with a furlong to go.

She drew clear from there going on to win by comfortably by five lengths from the favourite back in second. Alabelle completed the placings finishing a further seven lengths back in third at 7/2.

The winner who opened at 12/1 this morning found plenty of supporters and was returned at 11/2, having opened at 7/1 on course.
