< Lieutenant Colonel confirmed form with old rival Karalee to land the UCC Horse Racing Society Hurdle at Cork.

The pair were virtually inseparable behind Jezki last time, with Gordon Elliott's charge just getting the verdict, though Karalee was sent off the 4-5 favourite to get her revenge and was sent straight to the front of the four-runner field.

Davy Russell was happy to track the pace on the 13-8 winner, before taking up the running at the fourth last and keeping on well up the straight to beat Karalee by a length and a quarter.

Elliott bagged a double on the card when Black Tears (8-13 favourite) came out on top in the Racing Home For Easter Festival Mares (Ladies Pro/Am) Flat Race in the hands of Lisa O'Neill.

Elliott almost upset another Willie Mullins-trained odds-on favourite when his Last Minute Man almost got the better of Mullins' Antey

Paul Townend set out to make all on the 4-9 favourite and though Last Minute Man was almost on terms after the last, Antey stuck on well to score by a head.

It was a family affair in the CITSU Fillies Maiden Hurdle as Cristal Icon (4-1) landed the spoils.

Trained by Tom Mullins and owned by the trainer's wife Helen, their son David did the steering as she came home 17 lengths clear of Azua Emery

Local trainers enjoyed some success, first with Tom Nagle's Danse Away (5-4 favourite) landing the CIT Cream Of The Crop (QR) Handicap Hurdle under Barry O'Neill, then thanks to John Walsh's Shower Cross (7-2), who landed the UCC Don't Step On The Crest Handicap Hurdle under Ambrose McCurtin.

Top weight Pound A Stroke (6-4 favourite) benefited from Kevin Brouder's 7lb claim to land the CIT Raise And Give Handicap Hurdle by half a length from I'm Serious
