Review down royal 17th Mar
< Hold The Pin (25-1) took the feature Daily Mirror Chase at Down Royal to make it a red-letter day for trainer Ian Browne.
It was a first winner for the County Kildare handler, who took over the 12-year-old from Tony Martin's yard only six weeks ago.
The change of scenery seems to have done the trick as he won in commanding style, leading before the second-last under Robbie Moran and having enough in the tank to hold Ambobo by a length and a quarter.
Grand National hope Vic Venturi was sent off the 2-1 favourite and finished fourth.
Browne, who has 10 horses, said: "We were sweet on him today and quietly confident. We'll go for an open handicap on soft ground or heavy."
There was plenty of drama in the Bet With The Tote Beginners Chase before the Matty Bowes-ridden Farmaland (20-1) took the prize for the Noel Hynds yard.
It looked a penalty kick for the Gordon Elliott-trained Ballymak but the 2-7 favourite crashed out at the second fence.
Farmaland wasn't foot-perfect either, but recovered from a blunder to lead two out and held off the attentions of a loose horse to score by a length and three-quarters.< Get In There (12-1) pulled out the stops to hold the challenge of Kellystown Jack in the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle.
Adrian Heskin sent his mount into the lead at the fourth-last flight and got home by three lengths.
"That's her ground. She's tiny but as tough as you get. She'll go for something similar and will get three miles," said winning trainer Sean Doyle.
There was shock in the feature race at Wexford when Hide The Evidence the 16-1 complete outsider of four, took the Richard Browne And Sons Ltd Hurdle.
Barry Cash never saw a rival as he ran the three others ragged to bring home Niall Moran's charge eight lengths clear of No One Tells Me
