Gordon Elliott's Lord Scoundrel finished with a real flourish to land the TheTote.com Galway Plate on day three of the Galway Festival.

Willie Mullins looked to have the race sewn up with the pacesetting Ballycasey joined by stablemates Devils Bride and Alelchi Inois in front on the home turn.

Lord Scoundrel found another gear in the straight, though, getting on top close home under Donagh Meyler and going on to beat Alelchi Inois by a length and a quarter.< All The Answers lowered the colours of odds-on favourite Silver Concorde when landing the Tote Maiden Hurdle.

Dermot Weld's market leader struck the front before the home turn, but Mark Walsh appeared unconcerned on Joseph O'Brien's 10-3 chance, tracking the favourite before going clear after the last to win by two and three-quarter lengths.

Another Weld hotpot came unstuck when his 1-2 favourite A Shin Kildare was nailed on the line by Sweet Company in the Tote (QR) Maiden.

Nina Carberry was at her strongest on Tony Martin's 10-1 winner, clawing back the initiative from the favourite to get up by a short head at the line.

Brian Ellison bagged a winner when Our Kylie avoided the trouble in running that affected the Tote EBF Mares Handicap Hurdle.

The 9-1 chance had made her move just before some scrimmaging on the home turn saw two horses brought down, and she kept on well to beat Floral Fantasy by two and three-quarter lengths.< Cairdiuil laid down a tremendous late challenge in the TheTote.com Handicap, but he had to settle for second as Adrian Keatley's gutsy Millefiori (12-1) kept finding more for Shane Foley, prevailing by a neck.

Foley made it a double when driving Mick Halford's Katiymann (5-4) to victory in the TheTote.com Maiden.< Tony The Gent (7-4 favourite) also showed plenty of grit when he repelled the challenge of Weld's second string Creme De La in the home straight to land the Tote Handicap for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane.
