< On His Own joined an elite group when he regained the Goffs Thyestes Handicap Chase at Gowran Park.

The son of Presenting was priced at 12-1 to reproduce his performance in the 2012 running of the race and didn't disappoint, with only one jumping error coming in an otherwise perfect front-running display.

The favourite Los Amigos plugged on valiantly but could only finish six lengths behind the winner, who now looks set for another tilt at the Grand National.

The day got even better for Andrea and Graham Wylie when Black Hercules justified odds of 5-6 in the closing P.J. Foley Memorial INH Flat Race.

The five-year-old gelding cruised to a facile eight-and-a-half-length victory and he looks a big contender for upcoming championship races at home and in the UK.

That final success brought up a hat-trick for Mullins, who had seen Abbyssial win the opening Nugent Spirit 25 Horsebox Hurdle.

Ruby Walsh was forced to work hard to justify odds of 2-9, with his mount requiring plenty of encouragement to hold off his fast-finishing stablemate Noble Inn who got within a length and a half at the death.

The champion trainer did suffer disappointment when hot favourite Zaidpour failed to land a blow in the John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle despite odds of 1-2.< Mala Beach (10-3) was the one to capitalise on that rival's below par performance and chased down the creditable front-runner Un Beau Martin to score by a convincing eight lengths.

Favourite backers also had little to cheer about when Dogora failed to live up to odds of 8-13 in the PMF Accountants Beginners Chase.

The lightly raced seven-year-old Some Tikket (13-2) was making just his fourth start over the bigger obstacles but produced an assured display to prevail by five and a half lengths.

JP McManus, sponsor of the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle, saw his famous green and gold silks carried to a facile victory when Never Enough Time (4-1) won by 10 lengths.
