Roscommon Mon, 13th May, 2024 Naval Force He was all over the shop. He's a big raw horse and he's never gone right-handed in his life so Gavin did well on him to be fair,. I'd say he only really knew what he was doing in the last furlong so he should improve plenty for that. It's nice to get a win into him first time out. The two options are probably either to go up to stakes company for staying three-year-old races or we'll look at his rating and we could look at one of the mile-and-a-half three-year-old handicaps at Ascot. There are plenty of options for him. |
Navan Sat, 27th Apr, 2024 Unavoidable He did it very well to be fair to him. He's a lovely big horse and just took plenty of time to come to himself. He has a big frame so I thought he would be a bit green today, and he probably was, but he toughed it out. Nice to win first time. He doesn't have a whole pile of experience, so I'd say he just got a little bit lonely when he got there. The other horse (Rock Of Ireland) seemed to fight back as well. He'll be a lovely horse going forward, hopefully. Yes, no problem (stay 1m4f). I think ground is probably important enough to him. He's a real nice mover, so I'd say quick ground is probably important to him. We will look for some kind of winners' race now and see where he stands. |
Cork Fri, 26th Apr, 2024 Bremen He was working very well and I was fancying him until the rain came, which wouldn't suit him, but I don't think the ground is as bad (officially 'soft') as what they are saying. His last two races were messy and he didn't get a clear run around but has always worked like a nice horse. He is not big at all but if they are fast enough, it doesn't matter what size they are. He did it very nicely today, is a decent horse and we will maybe run in Chester now - that'll tell us where we stand. |
