Dundalk Fri, 8th Mar, 2024 Highland King You are always worried when they are a maiden if they are going to do it, but he's actually a very genuine horse. He's a big horse and probably just had a few growing issues. He has turned the corner now and hopefully he can go on and win another one. He has form on the turf and would probably jump a hurdle, he is big enough to, so there are loads of routes for him. Johnny (O'Brien, owner) has been very patient with him as he always is. |
Leopardstown Mon, 4th Mar, 2024 Notkeepinyagoing She deserves it as she's consistent. Although it's soft ground here today, it was just too soft in Tramore last time. Her form before that was pretty solid. Hopefully the handicapper doesn't take it too literally, it probably wasn't the greatest of maiden hurdles. She should be competitive off the mark she has now in a handicap or maybe a little winners' race somewhere. She doesn't owe them (Planetary Orbit Syndicate) anything as she's won a bumper in Galway and now a maiden hurdle here. She wasn't expensive. We'll keep going for another while. Now that she's got her head in front we'll have another crack at something. |
Dundalk Fri, 23rd Feb, 2024 Noble Crusade That was good, he's just hit a vein of form. They went a good lick, which probably helped as he stays very well. It's great to have the lads here, they weren't here the last day. They are staying up for the night, they've come from Limerick and elsewhere. Keithen was very good, again he did nothing wrong. He had a bad draw but got him in and went from there - we're very happy. They've been very patient with him. You could think about stepping up to two miles, that would be an option. He's handicapped over hurdles, and I'd say he's probably a two-and-a-half mile horse over hurdles. He's a fun horse. |
