Buckers Bridge - a lovely prospect for the future

There is little doubt that the son of Pelder is a promising type, and here he travelled with ease under Davy Roche. The six-year-old found what was required up the straight to see off Willie Mullins' favourite, Morning Royalty, by nine and a half lengths.
Henry de Bromhead trains Buckers Bridge for the Ann & Alan Potts Partnership and he said: "I'm delighted, I thought they went some gallop and he's a real galloping horse.
"He's exciting and Mark Molloy told me that he really liked him after winning a point-to-point with him.
"We went to his place to have a look, Alan (Potts) was with me and he really liked him.
"We were thinking about running him yesterday (in the Champion Bumper) but we said we'd come today and we made the right decision.
"I'd say he'd go on better ground, with more of a trip, he needs a stamina test.
"With him being a six-year-old I'm dying to get him over fences.
"If there'd been a maiden hurdle here this week we'd have run in it.
"I'll talk to the owners about what we'll do next year." (GC & EM)
