The Ted Walsh trained, three time track winner Battlefront recorded his sixth point-to-point victory in-a-row at Laurencetown in Co Galway this afternoon.

Ridden by Katie Walsh (who rode him to victory on the last five ocassions) the 10yo son of Pistolet Bleu brushed aside his three rivals to come home an easy six length winner from Ambobo back in second in the Boylesports Ladies Open.

Having started off his sequence of wins at Castletown-Geoghegan back in October of last year the bay gelding has since scored at Kilsheelan, Kildorrery, Ballyragget and Borris House.

The victory of Battlefront today cemented Katie Walsh’s place at the top of the point-to-point Lady Riders Championship on thirteen winners.
