Staysound Susie she was unlucky not have have won the Birdcatcher but I thought the trip might be short for her. She will stay seven (furlongs) but the soft ground helped bring in her stamina. We planned to hold her up but they didn't go fast enough so with the fact she stays seven, Ben said he'd kick on and he was able to dictate. We might go for a better handicap somewhere along the line over six or seven furlongs. the six lads are all from Fethard and they bred her. One is a bread man, another a retired superintendent, there's a farrier from Coolmore and another's father trained the winner of the Galway Hurdle — they're delighted.

Powerful Nation I think he is a very good horse and he idled in front. I'll get him another run before going for the Windsor Castle (Royal Ascot), as he was doing nothing only looked around. I was hearing so many things coming down here, I thought I was actually running in the Windsor Castle! . He had 9st6lb on his back and was giving a stone-and-a-half to some, so he is a fair horse. He was a bit green the last day, I think today's race was a proper one and I don't think ground is an issue for him. Kevin Walsh bred him, owns him with his sons and is from over the road in Dualla. Kevin has had horses with me for 10 years and while this is his best horse, he is lucky. I was with him at Goresbridge (in 2017) where we bought this lame filly by Society Rock for just €3,000 but she was from a really good family and she bred Powerful Nation.

Passionate She had her problems when she was in (Fozzy) Stack's, but Andrew (Slattery, jockey) liked her and recently she had been working well - although I didn't want to win six lengths!. She should have won in Gowran last Wednesday as she was tailed off coming down the hill, but ran on (in second) and I couldn't believe how she was beaten. She is also in at Leopardstown on Friday, but we'll have to see how she is.
