After race at Clonmel Thu, 22nd Oct, 2026 (1st)

I'm delighted to get the win on Lake Chad as well, as he a staple of the yard. I finished college recently and I am full-time riding out for Philip and others. Tessa is a great girl, has a great interest and it is great to get a winner for both myself and herself. She rode the horse with patience and certainly has the interest, which is a big help. The plan had been to go point-to-pointing Lake Chad for both Tessa and another girl to ride, but he wasn't qualified as he had won this year. We switched back to hurdles and it is great that it worked out.

He is not getting any younger, but has been a great servant and I'm delighted. He has had a break since his last run as he had been busy all along, so he was a fresh horse.

He is better around here than anywhere else. He has won here before and has always run a good race here. He ran terrible the last day and I don't know why he ran so poor. The ground was soft in Roscommon that day. It was a big improvement today. After finishing second at Clonmel, he had a couple of middling runs. He is in at Killarney on Thursday in another handicap chase so, who knows, if he comes out of this alright he could run.

He did well to win considering he was nearly brought down, I thought maybe our chance was slipping away at that point,. It was a credit to him the way he finished off the race well. He's had a bit of practice around here before which is a help. He's been around here a few times and ran well. He'll maybe get a little break now and come back here for the August meeting.

It was a nice performance. Over the first three hurdles he was making ground. He jumps particularly well, and he hasn’t an awful lot of it done, but he’s pretty natural. Two miles is his trip, as he seems to have a bit of pace. I was pleased with his first run (at Clonmel, after a long lay-off). He had a leg, and that’s why he didn’t appear. He’s declared for Thurles on Thursday, and I’m sure if he’s alright he’ll pull out on Thursday.
