Article hearing next Monday
The Turf Club today announced that they will hold a hearing next Monday into the run of The Real Article, at Tipperary last Sunday.
Edward O'Grady's charge was a fast finishing second to Captain Cee Bee in the Kevin McManus Bookmaker Grimes Hurdle.
Jockey Paddy Mangan rode his mount out 'hands and heels' from the last as he finished strongly, just failing to get his head in front.
The Real Article was subsequently put up 18lb for the run and is currently clear favourite for the Guinness Galway Hurdle where he is due to run off his old mark.
The following is the release today from the Turf Club:-
The Turf Club today announced that the Referrals Committee has been asked to review the failure of the Stewards at Tipperary to impose a sanction following the running of the Kevin McManus Bookmaker Grimes Hurdle.
The review will take place as a result of an application made by Denis Egan, Keeper of the Matchbook.
All parties have been informed and the hearing will take place in the Turf Club on Monday, 25th July 2011 at 10.30am.
