In easily the tightest finish of the day, Lord Aus completed a treble for Johnny Murtagh and Ben Coen in the concluding Racing Again November 7th Handicap at Gowran Park this afternoon.

After losing out by a neck at Listowel, the 13/8 favourite came out best in the photo-finish this time, getting the better of the Andy Oliver-trained 12/1 chance No More Hiding by a short-head, a second win for the Homely Equines-owned three-year-old this season.

Joseph O'Brien's 7/2 shot Shay's Dream was six lengths away in third place.

Murtagh, adding to earlier wins with 5/4 favourite Littlepacer and 11/8 favourite Shanala , said, “He pulled it out of the bag. Ben said he was on a bad side of the track.

“The second kicked down the near side, Ben said he didn't see him until late. In fairness to the horse, Ben said he responded very well to the line.

“He's a tough little horse, he's not very big. His brother won the English Cesarewitch, he's a brother to Alphonse Le Grande. He's a horse that has a big future and he'll probably step up in distance as well.”
