Crowd and bookies up but Tote falls

The crowd figures at Galway this week have held up reasonably well and today actually saw a slight increase on the number through the stiles.

The bookmakers also had a slight increase for the first time this week.

The turnover today was €1,309,926 while last years figure was €1,233,776. A rise of €76,150.

The Tote was down again however.

Their aggregate was €443,137 this year as opposed to €489,028 in 2010, a drop of €45,891.

The Pick Six, a new Tote initiative this season, paid a healthy dividend with 6 winners picking up €9,758.90.

That was shared out from a bumper pool of €78,071.83.

The fact that their were just six winners was perhaps slightly suprising given that the highest priced winner on the card was 4/1.
