Galway crowd and betting figures

The attendance at Galway today for Ladies Day, sponsored by Guinness, was 42,789 as opposed to 44,418 in 2010. A drop of under 4%.

The betting figures also followed the downward trend of previous days this week, although the fall today was not as dramatic. The Tote aggregate of €1,237,579.61 was 6.8% lower than the corresponding total of €1,329,114.00 last year.

Meanwhile the drop in the betting ring was not as severe, with €2,754,737 going through the books. This represented a 3.7% drop on the tally of €2,861,793 a year ago.
