Formscan - War Chest did little wrong with his debut three-quarter-length third at Ascot before going one better at Newbury, finishing close to five lengths adrift of the winner. Cornichon was back in fourth in the same race, looking as if he would improve considerably, although they might both be chasing BRYNMAIR GOLD home. A 16/1 chance on debut at Kempton, he was only beaten a neck when finishing fast and could go one better.
