Unbelievable. Again, Willie's mastery. This fella, he never really attacked when the loose horse upset him in Fairyhouse last week. But in fairness to Willie, he wasn't afraid to come back here. Knew the variable was stepping up five furlongs in trip and there was every chance he'd go and do that. I knew Paul was the horse to beat. The Gigginstown one was going to play a part but we got the better of him off the bend and yeah he is a good horse to put it to bed nicely. For me, I'm just so lucky to be part of the team in Willie's. I'm just blessed to be on the team and get to ride some of the good ones on these days.

He didn't show up in Kempton (sixth in King George), the ground was probably too quick for him. He was never happy and I was never happy on him in Kempton. He's after showing us today what we always knew he could do, and he has done it. I was just a passenger, all I had to do was steer him. He's so clever (jumping), you just leave it to him. He's one of those horses that is a joy to ride. When they get a bit older, they get a bit cleverer and they know what they are doing. He was fairly keen here on his two runs last year over three miles behind Galopin Des Champs, but he has learned so much now. He's the complete package now. When I jumped to the front four out, which was a mile too soon, I didn't want to be there but I let him use his jumping. There's no point in taking him back. I knew jumping the second last when I gave him a little squeeze after it and he pricked his ears, and I said I had plenty left. Up the straight, you could see him after the last looking at the crowd and pricking his ears - there was plenty left. That was a helluva performance, both from Mark and the horse. Terrific, he jumped from fence to fence and it was something to watch. He just jumped his way to the front and Mark didn’t want to disappoint him, and he kept galloping. I was wondering would he stay the trip going at that pace, because they went a fair lick from the start. He stayed every inch of it and galloped right through the line. It was a hell of a horse race, and it was a pity someone had to lose but both horses gave their all and it was just a bob of a head. Fact To File looked all over a winner coming down to the last and Gaelic Warrior just found more reserves. Paul said he was just so free and well in himself; he just wanted to gallop and jump. Paul said he was a passenger most of the way and out over the first two he didn’t have much say in the matter. He was able to get a breather into him at the fourth-last and maybe after the third-last which gave him a little bit of powder coming down to the last. Paul said he didn’t look around and just kept sitting and tried to get as much air into him as he could for one final effort and it paid off. I’m not going to say anything here now (about future plans) but we’ll look to have something in the King George and something in Leopardstown. We’ll see how they recover, how they come out of the race. It’s only five weeks away.

I didn’t expect that now – I thought he would run well, but that was a top race. Paul was worried about him pulling too hard and he’d want to be as fit as he is because he just pulled his arms out for the three miles. To do that, on that ground and win like that going away was a huge performance. His jumping was excellent. He just came out of Paul’s hands at the first fence and from then on Paul was just trying to settle him back. He got him back jumping normally. He’s just a natural chaser.

He didn't impress me at all, I was delighted he won, but throughout the race he wasn't impressing me. He looked like he wasn't enjoying it and maybe Cheltenham took much more out of him than we thought. At home he was on fire and maybe I did too much with him because he was going so well. It's hard to say something went wrong when you win by seven-and-a-half lengths. Maybe he loves the hill in Cheltenham, he just got going up the hill whereas today is a Flat track. I'll have a quick chat with Paul later on and see what he thought. Turning for home I wouldn't have backed him, so to win after that just means that he has a huge engine but he wasn't really in love with what he was doing today, whether it was the ground or what I don't know. I think we'll freshen him up now. I was thinking maybe of going to France but I won't, I think I'll just put him away.
