Navan Sat, 16th Sep, 2023  Toto Too He's a lovely horse to be honest with you. He schooled well at home and I was probably keen to get him out on a bit nicer ground. I thought he always wanted a bit nicer ground and Keith was saying he has loads of boot. Keith was saying he thought he would go on easier ground too, so he is a nice horse to look forward to going on to the winter. He has a bit of age on his side and we'll stay going until he tells us to stop. I think he could develop into a nice novice hurdler for Basil (Holian, owner). He works like that at home, he works like a horse that has loads of pace and that is what he has shown in his races. He's always nearly the last one off it (bridle). Even the horse of Andy Slattery's that was second to us in Killarney (Royal Hollow), I'd say that is not a slow horse. I'd say he will mix it with the best of them away during the winter, hopefully.

Ballinrobe Fri, 15th Sep, 2023  Paidi's Passion She did it well now,. She won her hurdle on the outer loop, the same track they were using today, and that's a nice track. They've done an unbelievable job with it here. She doesn't want real summer ground, she wouldn't want quick ground. She's very light-framed and enjoyed that ground, it's beautiful ground here today. I have to say that she keeps surprising me. I thought if we were third in this we'd have run well, but in fairness I knew that if she could run to the form of when she was second to Gavin Cromwell's mare (Malinas Girl) at Roscommon last year, she wouldn't be far away.

Killarney Fri, 25th Aug, 2023  Toto Too We went to Galway for a winners' bumper and I know we were getting a weight allowance, but we bumped into a good one of Willie's (Mullins). He did it well today and I think he is a nice horse. I wouldn't have minded going to England for one of the graded bumpers but with the recent rule changes most are now for four and five-year-olds. We'll see what is coming up here but he could mix it with the Flat and over hurdles. It is great for Basil and Bernie (Holian) who are great supporters of the yard. It's a pity we couldn't get them a winner at Galway but we've made up for it today.

Kilbeggan Fri, 25th Aug, 2023  El Champo I'm delighted. It's nice for Oliver (Barden, owner) to get another winner here. He's a lovely horse and the bit of rain this evening really helped him. Kilbeggan is in excellent condition this evening, loads of grass on the track. He appreciated the ease in it and that was a big step up on what he has been doing. I thought he ran a lovely race to finish second here in a maiden and the form of his Downpatrick runs have worked out really well too. I was hoping he'd be competitive but with it being his first run in a handicap it's hard to know how you'll fare. Paddy was very strong on him, he gave him a great ride. He was very positive and very strong in the finish. He's rode two finishes for me recently, two good strong rides, at Downpatrick and here and a lesser person wouldn't have won on either. I'm really thrilled with him.

Leopardstown Thu, 17th Aug, 2023  Barnacullia He's been firing a few warning shots and he deserved it. All credit to the young girl she gave him a great ride and had him in a lovely position the whole way. He just ran to his ability. He looked to be the best horse in the race and he showed that he was. He's been a great servant, I don't know where we're going next but he'll probably go back chasing.

Cork Fri, 14th Jul, 2023  Kayce Dutton his form is nothing but disappointing so far and he was unlucky in point-to-points as nothing happened for him. I said to Mags that his run in Punchestown wasn't that bad as Wizard Of Oz was third in that race and finished a solid second in a Grade 2 race at Aintree afterwards. I thought that wasn't a bad run, he had a bit of grass, strengthened up and when I saw he was 50/1 this morning I thought he had a better chance than that. Three miles probably suited but he jumps quick enough that dropping to 2m4f could also be an option.

Wexford Tue, 20th Jun, 2023  Battle Of Mirbat that’s my first winner for my grandfather. We were touched off a few times so it’s special to be able to tick that one off the list. We blow hot and cold in the yard but when we are outside the yard we are the best of friends. I’m delighted to be able to give him a bit back. he’s a gutsy horse and was suited by going left-handed again. He hasn’t done that since his Leopardstown run (last win in March). There was a right gallop and he settled lovely. He stayed on well from the back of the last to the line. If he’s keen and you get into a fight with him then he’ll want to go left. He got into a great rhythm today and it was a pleasure to ride.

Down Royal Fri, 2nd Jun, 2023  Reserve Judgement He's slow but he keeps galloping! He likes that ground and won his point-to-point on quick ground. To be honest, it is kind of a reward for perseverance by the owner (Derek Kierans). He was giving us a lot of worry for a long time, but he probably only got his conditions today. We thought he would run well; it probably wasn't the greatest of races. It is nice to get his head in front and hopefully he can go on and win another one. Sedgefield has a 3m3f I think and Cartmel has a 3m1f, and we might travel. He'll jump a fence as well. He's not one of the superstars but it is nice to win with the small fry sometimes, it can be harder to win with them. Happy for the owner, that is his third winner of the week.

Tipperary Thu, 18th May, 2023  Lady Of The Vale I think she’ll be better over further and she’ll improve from the run. I know she ran in Cork, but I think she’ll improve from that again. She won a bumper last year but her work is better this year. Hopefully she’ll go on and she should get a reasonable handicap mark. She has a good attitude and even in her bumpers she would always battle back. She is bred to stay three miles so it’s a bonus to win over two miles. She’ll tip away over the summer. She’s owned by the Nevilles from Charleville.
