Shaws Bay He’s a nice horse. He ran very well the first day, probably would have needed the run a little bit. He has come forward in his work,. I’d say he appreciated the better ground. Ben said he was winning well and he idled a little bit in front. I think he’s a horse that should improve with a bit of racing. I think seven furlongs is a good trip for him. I’m delighted the way the horses are going, they are all improving from one run to the next. That’s his second run so he should get a mark now. We’ll see if there is a three-year-old premier handicap for him. |

Latin America He is a nice horse. He was one of our better two-year-olds last year, got a few little hold ups. I was keen to run him this year early in the season on bad ground and he ran very well (second). I think it was a good race at the Curragh. This was a perfect race for him here today - a mile and a-quarter around Navan would suit him really well. Ben says when he hit the front, he's still learning a little bit, but he should come on a lot from today's experience and he's going to have to because we will probably step him up in class now. That uphill finish here and that's the first time he would have experienced that faster ground as well, so I think he will have learned a lot today. |

Darius Dark I am pleasantly surprised as he is a big horse, so I thought it would be a slow process with him. Rory said that when they quickened today he got outpaced, but going that 1m4f distance really suits. He is by Dark Angel, but there is stamina on the dam-sire and Pat Colville (Newtown Anner Stud's racing manager) reminded me that he is from a good family. |

Final Voyage That's Jessica's first win for me, she joined me this year and it is great to have her on the team. She is great in the mornings, loves her horses and this lad (Final Voyage) is a pet in the yard, so the apprentices get a go on him. I always tell the lads riding him to 'drop him in, don't come too soon' and, before today, he had also never won on the grass!. He is a lead horse at home and if we have one to get by him, they usually run well. He also pays his way and I'm delighted to get Jessica a winner. She does three-days-a-week with us. |

Clonbun He ran very well the last day in Dundalk and he was entitled to be very competitive in a race like that. Ben said he saves a little bit for himself, there is always a bit left there, but he responded well in tough going. We’re delighted to get a winner on the board, we’ve been hitting the crossbar with a few. It’s good to get him going. He’ll be a fun little horse, he’s very sound and genuine. Maybe someone will pick him up now. 68 is probably a fair rating for him. |
