After race at Galway Tue, 8th Oct, 2024 (1st)  He jumped great, he was clever and shortened when he had to,. I was delighted with him the whole way and Jack was grand on him, he didn't panic at any stage and let him pop. He winged a couple of fences. I'd say he gave a heave going to the second last but then class just pulled him through. He winged the last. I think he's only about 70 or 75 percent fit so he's going to come on a lot from that. It was a lovely opportunity to start him off over fences. Where we go from here, I don't know yet but obviously our main aim is to try and get back to Cheltenham. We won't over-race him but we'll get some good races into him. He'll definitely face stiffer opposition through the winter but that was nice, a lovely experience for him and especially here at home next door to us. The ground is in absolutely fantastic conditions. It's lovely, a three-runner race at home, but I'm glad it's over with in one way. When you've a horse like this and he's your best horse, and he's owned by very good owners, you just want to get this out of the way and progress from here and see where he brings us. I was only looking at today and today's opportunity was lovely for him. He'll get another before he goes back to Cheltenham in November. I'd like to keep it local and keep him off the truck, keep the travelling limit. I'm not sure if there's a race here later in the month but if there is he'll more than likely come back here. After race at Galway Sat, 28th Oct, 2023 (1st)  He definitely deserved that as he has been consistent and is after carrying a big weight and won as he liked. We're hoping to kick on to Cheltenham in November now for a staying handicap hurdle. He wants a trip, jumps well and is honest and that's what you want. If he stayed straight we think he'd have won at Cheltenham (in March) when only beaten a couple of lengths and backed it up when finding just one too good at Aintree. We might have a couple to run at Cheltenham in November and when you have horses like these, I like to campaign them at the good places and hope to get good results.  I reckon he'll be a better chaser but I'd say we'll wait to jump a fence until next year. After race at Fairyhouse Sat, 28th Jan, 2023 (1st)  It was a super performance and the ride Jack gave him was brilliant, he just left the horse alone and let him jump,. He was meant to run over Christmas in a similar race to this at Limerick but all our horses went down (with illness) that week. To come back here and get a winner is fantastic. He's a grand horse. He ran a very good race in Navan and I said with any improvement from that he'd win. He was one of the sickest horses I had over Christmas so it's fantastic to come back and do this. He's rated 102 and he's in again on Tuesday. He'll be declared in the morning but that doesn't mean he will run. He's owned by Tom Quinn, John Joe McGrath and Eddie Lynch. I met them in Ballinrobe one day and they said they'd buy a horse. We bought this horse from Martin Cullinane and he's a right horse for them to have a bit of fun with. Paul John Gilligan
