his Galway run was over two miles where his owners wanted a runner, and things went wrong having made mistakes. He just wasn’t right after the race so we gave him time and he is back to himself. There’s no doubt the further he goes, the better he is and while he also was in the three-mile hurdle earlier this week, I felt he had too much weight for a young horse. He’ll stay three miles and is a big horse who will also jump a fence. He is a nice horse to have.

I thought he’d run well but I thought the ground was against him. Heavy ground doesn’t really suit him, but it didn’t look that bad and Darragh was very good on him. He stays well, and I’d say he could go three miles. We only have a few horses and I’m lucky that I have some good owners. We only have ten in training and it’s nice to get it.

He wants slow ground and just got away with that I'd say. He's not a bad sort of a horse. He was third in Tramore and was entitled to be there. He's an honest horse, he's a fine big horse and will jump a fence in time and he might win a race on the flat again for us. They are good owners, they are with me a long time and they've been lucky for me. If the ground changed in Galway he might end up there. I have him in two of three Flat races and wouldn't mind running him over two miles if I got soft ground.

He's not a bad horse, is only a three-year-old and I think he is a nice type. The further he goes the better he'll be and he'll be a nice hurdler who'll go jumping next February or March. There's a whole family in the syndicate who are from outside Athlone and one of them lives here just outside Galway so it's great. Adam rode him the last twice but that's his first winner for me.
