I thought the handicapper had caught up with him but I’d never seen him in as good a form as he’s been over the last three days. He’s like a horse possessed and has been in super form so it’s nice to come to the races and see it work out. Carol Hogan and Eric Newnham are super supporters of the yard so it’s great for them. There was a race for him in Navan next week but he wouldn’t love it heavy and I thought here would be the lesser of two evils and we got away with the light weight.

We’ve had a lot of seconds since Christmas. The horses are flying but they were just hitting the crossbar. This horse had a nice light weight and he stayed at it well. I thought he got too big a penalty for winning the type of race he did in Thurles. I was delighted with his run in Fairyhouse the last day and I thought the only way we were going to get another day was a light weight and go a good gallop.
