That's unreal, that is Cara's first winner on the track and she has three point-to-point winners. We couldn't get a jockey to ride him yesterday with all the point-to-points on today. We had no jockey at 12 o'clock yesterday. She worked up in Wilson Dennison's along with Noel (McParlan, son) and that's how he knew her. She is now working for the Doyles in Wexford. He must be class, that's only his third run. We thought he was a right horse (before his point-to-point victory), we got him off Paddy Turley. Paddy always thought he was a right horse. I didn't think he would handle the ground, to be honest. I thought he would want better ground. He destroyed them. I'm just delighted. The Raceday Stewards interviewed S. McParlan, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Shantou Show. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that he had nominated a rider in accordance with the provisions of Rule 195 but within minutes of the close of nominations, the rider withdrew his availability. He added that it was very difficult to find a rider as there were a number of Point to Points around the country today. He confirmed that he had been in contact with the HRI when trying to secure a rider. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanation on this occasion and allowed the request for Ms. C.L. McGoldrick to ride Shantou Show

Mr P.J. O'Neill, rider of Custers Mistake, trained by John F. O'Neill, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was pulled up having never travelled during this race

Mr S. Connor, rider of Soivegotachance, trained by Stephen McConville, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle the ground and pulled up

Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules a? A Hunters Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2022/2023 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Office of the I.N.H.S. Committee, The Curragh, Co. Kildare not later than 27th March, 2023 or the horse will not be qualified to start.
